Salato Wildlife Education Center

Welcome to the Salato Wildlife Education Center! From the lush, eastern mountains to rolling prairies... from lowland marshes to clear running streams... you'll experience Kentucky's diverse regional ecosystems and the wealth of fish, plants, and animals that make this their home.

The Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort will close for the winter beginning Monday, December 14. We welcome everyone to join us when we re-open to the public February 16. The fishing lakes, picnic shelters, and hiking trails remain open daily, from dawn to dusk.

Plus, you may choose to participate in a variety of scheduled programs, activities, and workshops. So pack a lunch, gather your fishing gear - don't forget the kids and camera - and come visit!
